This program appeals to composers, performers, and producers who seek to centre music technology in their creative practice. The Music Technology community embraces artistic expression across genres and welcomes creative practice on any instrument or voice, including those who perform with technology-as-instrument. In this four-year degree program, students study music and technology in parallel, leveraging professional-grade multimedia music recording, production, and performance facilities in a collaborative environment. Students emerge from the program with expanded knowledge, refined craft, and a professional network. Music Technology & Digital Media graduates can find opportunities in sound and music for film, video games, television, and advertising; independent music production and engineering; multimedia support for production and events; among others. This program also provides the necessary background for admission to graduate school, including through the Combined Degree Program for the Bachelor of Music, Music Technology & Digital Media specializations (Classical and Jazz), and the Master of Music, field in Music Technology & Digital Media. The core courses in the program provide students with breadth in music and technology studies. Elective options across music technology, music, and through the Faculty of Arts and Science allow for focussed study in fields such as composition, performance, music for media, computer science and more.
